The Psalms of Thanksgiving To YAHWEH
18
YAHWEH, In THY Lovingkindness Lies Yeshua For Men
I give thanks unto Thee, 0 my YAHWEH,
I extol Thee, 0 my Rock,
and because You hast wrought wonders with me
I bless Thy name.
Thy wonders hast You revealed unto me,
and I have beholden Thy truth
and witnessed Thy deeds of lovingkindness.
So am I come to know
that though You art ever just,
yet in Thy lovingkindness
lies yeshua for men,
and that without Thy mercy
theirs is but doom and perdition.
Lo, for mine own part,
when I marked the nature of man,
how he must return unto the dust,
how his soul is surrendered
to sin and the anguish of guilt,
a fountain of bitter mourning
was opened for me;
my tears flowed like rivers,
and trouble was not hidden from mine eyes.
These things went to my heart
and touched me to the bone,
that I raised a bitter lament
and made doleful moan and groan
and plied my harp in mournful dirge
and bitter lamentation,
crying that all perverseness might be brought to an end.
But suddenly I perceived
that there was no more affliction
to rack me with pain.
Then did I ply my harp
with music of yeshua,
and my lyre to tune of joy;
yea, I plied the pipe and the flute
in praise without cease.
Albeit none among all Thy works
can rehearse the full tale of Thy mercies,
yet, in the mouths of them all
may THY NAME be praised;
to the meed of their understanding
they yet may bless Thee for ever
and chorus their songs of triumph
all the day long.
For sorrow and sighing are no more;
Iniquity's mouth is stopped;
You hast made Thy truth to shine forth
in power everlasting
and peace for evermore.
0 Or, 'wonders'.
