The Remnant Of The Dead Sea Scrolls;
A Comparison To YAHWEH's Victory Community
Note: These are not the rules for Victory Community.
Prior to the destruction of Jerusalem there lived a group of people in communities in the Palestine area which we have called YAHWEH's Remnant. We have come to believe that the group told about in the Dead Sea Scrolls was a group, SetApart for YAHWEH's purpose, a remnant. This was the time of The Maccabean War, during which the Greeks had come into Judah to rule over the Jews and in the same area that The Dead Sea Scrolls were found. The parallels between that group of people almost two thousand years ago and the every day things that we encounter today are not coincidental, for; When I consider THY heavens, the work of THY fingers, the moon and the stars, which THOU hast ordained; Tehillim (Psalms) 8:3, scripture assures us that YAHWEH is in control of all things.
Remnant Separated Themselves Completely From The World
That remnant separated themselves completely from the world and the religious order of that day. That was their first order, they did not want to have any part of the wickedness that was taking place in Jerusalem and the wicked people that called themselves Jews. The saints here at Victory Community have come out from among the world, surrendered all and separated ourselves for the love of the unity of the community in YAHWEH. Our desire is to not only separate ourselves from the wickedness of the world, but even greater is the urgent need to cleanse ourselves from any unrighteousness in our flesh that will separate us from YAHWEH forever!
The Manual of Discipline, Community Rules from the Dead Sea Scrolls are the written community rules of this group. They felt so strongly about the commitment to YAHWEH, the community and their brethren that they documented their rules and beliefs. Today here at Victory Community we are committing our entire being into seeking and diligently searching the written word, putting the community needs first and obeying YAHWEH's commandments. Commit your works unto YAHWEH, and your thoughts shall be established. Mishle (Proverbs) 16:3.
Even though this remnant was noted for their gentle loving ways by historians, they were very strict concerning anyone joining their community. They required two years of probation of anyone requesting to enter the community, in order to test their commitment, sincerity and ability to grow in YAHWEH. They also had an annual review of every saint to make sure they were growing in knowledge and obedience in YAHWEH. We at Victory do not have a written initiation requirement nor an annual review, although the spirit of YAHWEH, through Pastor David Roberts has the authority and does discern the motive and intent of each one that requests to come and the saints here daily.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12 This remnant referred to the spirits of perversity under the domination of the Malak (angel) of Darkness and to the children of light and truth for the saints of YAHWEH. YAHWEH gave us HIS seven spirits to battle against the seven spirits of darkness. They took great care in thoroughly understanding and discerning the meaning of the scriptures, which led them closer unto YAHWEH and armed them against the spirits of darkness. Being aware of the war that is before us, Pastor Roberts constantly prepares us for battle through his preaching, teaching and loving care.
They had a very high reverence and great love for the NAME of YAHWEH. Any one that blasphemed the NAME was excommunicated from them and they had no contact or communication with the one that blasphemed that wonderful NAME. They were also never allowed back to the community. Our main goal in life is to Fear YAHWEH, and keep HIS commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
They took care of all sick and hungry, no matter if they were part of the community or not. Otherwise, they vehemently hated and forbade any member to come in contact with the wicked. They taught the brethren to love what YAHWEH loves and to hate what HE hates. We today believe scripture, As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Each day they came together to eat their meals in a common dining hall. They ate in silence, denying themselves to protect against gluttony of food. They were very careful to protect the community from the lust and desires of the carnal flesh and world, to the extent of owning nothing; considering not even the clothes on their back as their own. The saints here at Victory community also come together each day, at each meal in a common dining hall to eat the same food for all. Pastor Roberts continually warns us of the pitfalls of the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes to prepare our hearts for the onslaught of Satan's war.
They set their affections on things above and not on this world. They looked to death as a release from this worldly body unto a life in the heavenly but for every wicked soul they contemned them unto hell and torment forever. In the psalms of these people, you will find how very important in the Dead Sea Scrolls the thanksgiving unto YAHWEH was and how it was constantly shown. Reading the psalms you will get an indebt understanding of the grateful attitude toward YAHWEH, the unworthiness and wretchedness of man and the magnitude of the knowledge with revelation that they had of the scriptures. It is a beautiful reading that will enlighten everyone's soul. We here at Victory Community believe that Pastor Roberts is given by YAHWEH the profound desire and revelation of the pure word of YAHWEH. We are constantly amazed at the simple truths, deep revelations and soul touching beauty that Pastor reveals to the people of YAHWEH through his preaching and teaching.
As it was in the beginning, so it shall be in the end; we as saints need to take heed to the scriptures and examples that YAHWEH has given us. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 1 Kepha (Peter) 4:7
