Entering the Covenant:
With Your Whole Heart
With my whole heart I do love YOU, YAHWEH, my exceeding joy
"And I will give them a heart to Know ME, that I am YAHWEH and they will be MY people and I will be their Mighty One, because they will turn to ME with their whole heart. YermeYah-(Jeremiah) 24:7, and YermeYah 29:13.
"And they entered into the Covenant to seek YAHWEH the Mighty One of their fathers, with all their hearts and all their inner beings. Divre Hayamim Bet- (2 Chronicles) 15:12,34:31 & Melechim Bet- (2 Kings) 23:1-3.
"YAHWEH your Mighty One will circumcise your heart, to love YAHWEH your Mighty One with all your heart and inner being." Devarim-(Deuteronomy) 30:6
"I will make an Everlasting Covenant with them, I will not turn away from them to do them good, but I will put MY fear in their hearts, so that they will not depart from ME. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good with MY whole heart and MY whole inner being." YermeYah 32:40.
Whole Heartedness Is The Secret Of Entering The Covenant
In the days of Asa, Yachezekyahu (Hezekiah), and Yosyahu (Josiah), we read of Yisrael entering into "the Covenant" with their whole hearts," to perform the words of the Covenant which are written in the book." Of Asa's day we read, "They swore to YAHWEH; and all Yahudah rejoiced at this oath, because they had sworn with their whole hearts and sought after YAHWEH with their whole desire, and YAHWEH was found by them." Whole heartedness is the secret of entering the Covenant and YAHWEH being found by us in it. Whole heartedness is the secret of joy in true worship, a full entrance into all the promises of the Covenant. With YAHWEH'S whole being YAHWEH rejoices over YAHWEH'S SetApart Ones to do them good. We need, on our part, our whole heart and our whole inner being (soul) to enter into and enjoy this joy of YAHWEH of doing us good. With what measure we give out, it shall be measured unto us again.
If we have at all understood the teaching of YAHWEH'S Word in regard to the New Covenant, know what it reveals in regard to the two parties who meet in it. On YAHWEH'S side, there is the promise to do for us and in us all that we need to serve and enjoy YAHWEH. YAHWEH rejoices in doing us good, with YAHWEH'S whole heart! YAHWEH will be our Mighty One doing all and giving us fellowship with YAHWEH. On our side there is the prospect held out of our being able, in the power of what YAHWEH engages to do, to turn to YAHWEH with our whole hearts, to love YAHWEH with all our hearts and all our strength. The first and great Commandment, the only possible terms on which YAHWEH can fully be revealed, or give of YAHWEH'S Self to us to enjoy, is, "You shall love YAHWEH, your Mighty One with all your heart." That Law is unchangeable. The New Covenant gives us the Spirit of YAHSHUA so that we can obey, by lifting us into the love of YAHWEH, as the air we breathe, and enables us, in trust and believe in YAHWEH'S Spirit, and YAHWEH'S unmerited favor, to rise and be of good courage, and will our whole heart to yield ourselves to the Mighty One of the Covenant, and the life in YAHWEH'S service.
Whole Heartedness In The Love And Service Of YAHWEH!
Whole heartedness in the love and service of YAHWEH! How will I speak of it, of its imperative necessity? It is an unalterable condition of true communion with YAHWEH, of which nothing can supply the want. What of its infinite reasonableness? With YAHWEH, the very fountain of all that is loving and lovely, of all that is good and praised, the All-honoured YAHWEH; surely there cannot for a moment be a thought of anything else being YAHWEH'S due, or of our consenting to offer YAHWEH anything less than the love of our whole heart! What of its unspeakable happiness? To love YAHWEH with the whole heart, this is the only possible way of receiving YAHWEH'S great love into our heart and rejoicing in it, yielding ourselves to this mighty love and allowing YAHWEH to give us the taste and the joy of that heavenly love. What of its terrible lack? Yes, what shall I speak of this? Where to find words to open the eyes and reach the heart, and show how almost universal is the lack of true whole heartedness in the belief and trust, and love of YAHWEH, in the desire to love YAHWEH with the whole heart, in the offering of everything to possess YAHWEH, to please YAHWEH, to be totally possessed of YAHWEH? And then the blessed certainty of its attainableness ? The Covenant has provided for it. YAHWEH, through YAHSHUA, by YAHWEH'S Spirit will work it by taking possession of the heart and dwelling there. The Mediator of the Covenant undertakes to do all of it in us. YAHWEH'S overpowering love shed through out our hearts by the SetApart Spirit can bright and maintain it. Yes, I ask, how shall I speak of all of this?
Have we not spoken enough of it already in this book? Do we need something more than words or thoughts? Is this not rather what we really need; to quietly turn to the Spirit of YAHWEH, who dwells in us, and in belief and trust in the light and power of our Master YAHSHUA, accept and act out what YAHWEH tells us is the YAHWEH-given heart which YAHWEH has placed within us. Surely the new heart which has been given us to love YAHWEH with, will YAHWEH'S Spirit in it, is totally for YAHWEH!! Let our belief and trust accept and rejoice in this wonderful gift, and without fear say: I love You, 0 YAHWEH, with my whole heart. Just think for a moment what it means that YAHWEH has given us such a heart. We know what YAHWEH'S giving means, yet YAHWEH'S giving depends on our taking it! YAHWEH does not force upon us spiritual possessions. YAHWEH promises and gives, in such measure as desire, and belief and trust are ready to receive. YAHWEH is the Almighty power; as belief and trust yield themselves to that power, and accept the gift, they become consciously, and based on experience, our possession.
As spiritual gifts they are not recognized by sense or reason. "Ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of mankind the things YAHWEH has prepared for those who love YAHWEH." QorintYah Alef-(1 Corinthians) 2:9. But YAHWEH has revealed them to us by the SetApart Spirit! We have received the Spirit, which is of YAHWEH, so that we will know the things which are freely given to us by Yahweh. It is as you yield yourself to be led and taught by the Spirit, that your belief and trust will be able, despite all lack of feelings, to rejoice in the possession of the new heart and all that is given with it.
This giving by YAHWEH is continuous! I give a gift to a man, he takes it and I never see him again. So YAHWEH gives temporal gifts to believers and they never think of YAHWEH! But spiritual gifts are only to be received and enjoyed in unceasing communication with YAHWEH. The new heart is not a power I have in myself, like the natural powers of thinking or loving, no, it is only in unceasing dependence upon, in close contact with YAHWEH, that the new heart can be maintained uninjured, can day by day become stronger. It is only in YAHWEH'S immediate presence, in unbroken direct dependence on YAHWEH, that spiritual abilities are preserved. Then, also, spiritual gifts can only be enjoyed by acting them out in trust and belief. None of the virtues of the Believer's life, like love, or meekness, or boldness, can be felt or known, much less strengthened, until we begin to exercise them. We must not wait to feel them, or to feel the strength for them, we must, in the obedience of our belief and trust, believe that they are given us, and hidden within us, and practice them. Whatever we read about the new heart (and all YAHWEH has given into that new heart), in the New Covenant, must be boldly believed and carried out into action.
This is especially true of whole heartedness and of loving YAHWEH with all of your heart. You may be at first very ignorant of all it implies. YAHWEH has planted the new heart in the midst of the flesh, which with its animating principle-SELF-has to be denied, to be kept executed, and by the power of YAHWEH'S Spirit, to overcome bodily desires and feelings by the pain of self-denial! YAHWEH has placed you in the midst of a world, from which, with all that is of it and its spirit, you are to come out and be entirely separate from it. YAHWEH has given you your work in YAHWEH'S kingdom, for which YAHWEH asks all of your interest time and strength. In all these three respects you need whole heartedness, to enable you to make the offerings that are required. If you look at the ordinary standard of believers lives around you, you will find that whole heartedness, intense devotion to YAHWEH and YAHWEH'S service, is hardly ever thought about! How to make the best of both worlds, innocently to enjoy as much as possible of this present life is the ruling principle and as a natural consequence the present world secures the larger share of interest. To please self is considered legitimate and the MESSIYAH-like life of not pleasing self has no place.
Whole heartedness will lead you and enable you to accept the MESSIYAH'S command and sell all for the pearl of great price. Though at first you may be afraid of what it will involve, do not hesitate to speak the word frequently in the ear of our ABBA: 'with my whole heart.' You can count on the SetApart Spirit to open up its meaning, to show you to what service or what offering Yahweh calls you to in it, to increase its power, to reveal its blessings, to make it the very spirit of your life of devotion to your Covenant Mighty One.
And now, who is ready to enter into this New and Everlasting Covenant with their whole heart? Let each of us do it.
Begin by asking YAHWEH very humbly to give you by the Spirit, who dwells in you, the vision of the heavenly life of whole hearted love and obedience, as it has actually been prepared for you in YAHSHUA the MESSIYAH. It is an existing reality, a spiritual ability out of the life of YAHWEH which can come upon you. It is secured to you in the Covenant and in the MESSIYAH YAHSHUA, its Guarantor. Ask earnestly, definitely, believingly, that YAHWEH reveal this to you. Do not rest until you fully know what your ABBA means you to be, and has provided for your being this.
Offer To Love YAHWEH With Your Whole Heart And To Obey YAHWEH With All Your Strength.
When you begin to see why the New Covenant was given, and what it promises, offer yourself to YAHWEH unreservedly to be taken up into it. Offer to love YAHWEH with your whole heart and to obey YAHWEH with all your strength. Do not hold back! Do not be afraid! YAHWEH has sworn to do you good with all that YAHWEH is, do say, do not hesitate to say, that into YAHWEH'S Covenant (in which YAHWEH promises to cause you to turn to YAHWEH and love YAHWEH with your whole heart) you will now enter with your whole heart!
If fear comes, ask again and believe you will see the vision of the New Covenant life. YAHWEH undertakes to make and enable you to love and obey YAHWEH with your whole heart. The vision of this life will make you bold enough to say: Into this Covenant of whole hearted love in YAHWEH, I do with my whole heart now enter: here will I live.
Let us close and part with this one thought. A redeeming Mighty One, rejoicing with the whole heart to do us good, and to work in us all that is well-pleasing in YAHWEH'S sight: this is the one side. Such is the Mighty One of the Covenant. Gaze upon YAHWEH, believe YAHWEH, worship YAHWEH, and wait upon YAHWEH, until the fire begins to burn, and your heart is drawn out with all its strength to love YAHWEH. Then, the other side, a redeemed believer, rejoicing with all their heart and inner being in the love of YAHWEH, entering into the Covenant of whole hearted love, venturing (before even knowing the reality of the whole matter) to say to YAHWEH: With my whole heart I do love YOU, YAHWEH, my exceeding joy. Such are the children of the Covenant.
Beloved reader, do not rest until you have entered in through the beautiful gate, through YAHSHUA the door, into YAHWEH'S tabernacle of love, into the very heart of YAHWEH!
