TIMOTHIYAH -1- TIMOTHY 3:8-13

׃א Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Likewise must the shamashim also be pure, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for unjust gain;

 

׃ב  Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

Holding the divine mystery of the emunah in a clean conscience.

 

׃ג  And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

And let these shamashim also first be tested and examined; then let them use the office of a shamesh, after having been found blameless.

 

׃ד Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

Even so must their wives be of tov character, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

 

׃ה Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Let the shamashim be the husbands of one wife, overseeing their children and their own houses well.

 

׃ו  For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in YAHSHUA ha MessiYah.

For they that have used the office of a shamesh well, gain a tov standing, and great increase with the emunah which is in Moshiach Yahshua.
