TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89

YAHWEH's Mercy And Truth, And His Covenant

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:1

  1     ^¶  Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of YAHWEH forever: with my mouth will I make known YOUR faithfulness to all generations.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:2

  2    For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever: YOUR faithfulness shall YOU establish in the very heavens.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:3

  3    I have made a covenant with MY chosen, I have sworn to David MY servant,

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:4

  4    YOUR seed will I establish forever, and build up YOUR throne to all generations. Selah.

The Honor And Perfection Of YAHWEH

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:5

  5     ^¶  And the heavens shall praise YOUR wonders, O YAHWEH: YOUR faithfulness also in the congregation of the kidushim.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:6

  6    For who in the heaven can be compared to YAHWEH? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to YAHWEH?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:7

  7    YAHWEH is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the kidushim, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about HIM.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:8

  8    O YAHH the Sovereign Ruler of hosts, who is a strong YAHWEH like to YOU? or to YOUR faithfulness round about YOU?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:9

  9    YOU rule the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, YOU still them.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:10

  10    YOU have broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; YOU have scattered YOUR enemies with YOUR strong arm.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:11

  11    The heavens are YOURS, the earth also is YOURS: as for the world and the fullness thereof, YOU have founded them.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:12

  12    The north and the south YOU have created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in YOUR NAME.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:13

  13    YOU have a mighty arm: strong is YOUR hand, and high is YOUR right hand.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:14

  14    Justice and judgment are the habitation of YOUR throne: mercy and Truth shall go before YOUR face.

The Happiness Of Those In Communion With Him

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:15

  15     ^¶  Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O YAHWEH, in the Light of YOUR countenance.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:16

  16    In YOUR NAME shall they rejoice all the day: and in YOUR righteousness shall they be exalted.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:17

  17    For YOU are the beauty of their strength: and in YOUR favor our horn shall be exalted.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:18

  18    For YAHWEH is our defense; and the Kadosh ONE of Yisrael is our king.

YAHWEH's Covenant With David, As A Type Of Messiah

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:19

  19     ^¶  Then YOU spoke in vision to YOUR chaciyd one, and said, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:20

  20    I have found David MY servant; with MY kodesh oil have I anointed him:

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:21

  21    With whom MY hand shall be established: MY arm also shall strengthen him.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:22

  22    The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:23

  23    And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:24

  24    But MY faithfulness and MY mercy shall be with him: and in MY NAME shall his horn be exalted.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:25

  25    I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:26

  26    He shall cry to ME, YOU are my ABBA, my YAHWEH, and the Rock of my yeshua.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:27

  27    Also I will make him MY firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:28

  28    MY mercy will I keep for him forevermore, and MY covenant shall stand fast with him.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:29

  29    His seed also will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:30

  30    If his children forsake MY torah, and walk not in MY judgments;

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:31

  31    If they break MY statutes, and keep not MY commandments;

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:32

  32    Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:33

  33    Nevertheless MY lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer MY faithfulness to fail.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:34

  34    MY covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of MY lips.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:35

  35    Once have I sworn by MY pure setapartness that I will not lie to David.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:36

  36    His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before ME.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:37

  37    It shall be established forever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

A Calamitous State Lamented, Prayer For Redress

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:38

  38     ^¶  But YOU have cast off and abhorred, YOU have taken away YOUR anointed.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:39

  39    YOU have made void the covenant of YOUR servant: YOU have profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:40

  40    YOU have broken down all his hedges; YOU have brought his strong holds to ruin.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:41

  41    All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbors.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:42

  42    YOU have set up the right hand of his adversaries; YOU have made all his enemies to rejoice.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:43

  43    YOU have also turned the edge of his sword, and has not made him to stand in the battle.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:44

  44    YOU have made his purity to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:45

  45    The days of his youth have YOU shortened: YOU have covered him with shame. Selah.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:46

  46    How long, YAHWEH? will YOU hide YOURSELF continually? shall YOUR wrath burn like fire?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:47

  47    Remember how short my time is: wherefore have YOU made all men in vain?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:48

  48    What valiant warrior is he that lives, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:49

  49    Sovereign YAHWEH, where are YOUR former lovingkindnesses, which YOU swore to David in YOUR Truth?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:50

  50    Remember, Sovereign YAHWEH, the reproach of YOUR servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:51

  51    Wherewith YOUR enemies have reproached, O YAHWEH; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of YOUR Messiah.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 89:52

  52    Blessed be YAHWEH forever. So be it, and Let it be fulfilled.
