TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60

David Prays For The Deliverance Of Yisrael From Their Enemies

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:1

  1     ^¶  To the chief Musician upon Shushaneduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aramnaharaim and with Aramzobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O YAHWEH, YOU have cast us off, YOU have scattered us, YOU have been displeased; O turn YOURSELF to us again.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:2

  2    YOU have made the earth to tremble; YOU have broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shakes.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:3

  3    YOU have shown YOUR people hard things: YOU have made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

A Banner Is Given To Them That Fear YAHWEH

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:4

  4    YOU have given a banner to them that fear YOU, that it may be displayed because of the Truth. Selah.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:5

  5    That YOUR beloved may be delivered; save with YOUR right hand, and answer me.

He Entreats YAHWEH To Carry On And Complete Their Victories

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:6

  6     ^¶  YAHWEH has spoken in HIS kodesh-ness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:7

  7    Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of my head; Yahudah is my torah-giver;

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:8

  8    Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph you because of me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:9

  9    Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:10

  10    Will not YOU, O YAHWEH, which had cast us off? and YOU, O YAHWEH, which did not go out with our armies?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:11

  11    Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of sons of adam.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 60:12

  12    Through YAHWEH we shall do valiantly: for HE it is that shall tread down our enemies.
