TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56

David Seeks Mercy From YAHWEH, Amidst The Malice Of His Enemies

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:1

  1     ^¶  To the chief Musician upon Jonathelemrechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath. Be merciful to me, O YAHWEH: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresses me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:2

  2    My enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O YOU most High.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:3

  3    When I am afraid, I will trust in YOU.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:4

  4    In YAHWEH I will HalleluYah HIS Word, in YAHWEH I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:5

  5    Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:6

  6    They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:7

  7    Shall they escape by iniquity? in YOUR anger cast down the people, O YAHWEH.

He Rests His Faith On YAHWEH's Promises, And Declares His Obligation To Praise Him For Mercies

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:8

  8     ^¶  YOU tell my wanderings: put YOU my tears into YOUR skins bottle: are they not in YOUR book?

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:9

  9    When I cry to YOU, then shall my enemies turn back: this I know; for YAHWEH is for me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:10

  10    In YAHWEH will I Halal HIS Word: in YAHWEH will I Halal HIS Word.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:11

  11    In YAHWEH have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what sons of adam can do to me.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:12

  12    YOUR vows are upon me, O YAHWEH: I will render praises to YOU.

TEHILLIM - PSALMS 56:13

  13    For YOU have delivered my soul from death: will not YOU deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before YAHWEH in the light of the living?
