The Sin And Death Of Nadab And Abihu

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:1

  1     ?  And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before YAHWEH, which he commanded them not.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:2

  2    And there went out fire from YAHWEH, and devoured them, and they died before YAHWEH.

Aaron And His Sons Forbidden To Mourn For Nadab And Abihu

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:3

  3     ?  Then Mosheh said to Aaron, This is it that YAHWEH spoke, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be honoured. And Aaron held his peace.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:4

  4    And Mosheh called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:5

  5    So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Mosheh had said.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:6

  6    And Mosheh said to Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest you die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Yisrael, bewail the burning which YAHWEH has kindled.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:7

  7    And you shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die: for the anointing oil of YAHWEH is upon you. And they did according to the word of Mosheh.

Wine Forbidden To The Kohenim When In The Service Of The Tabernacle

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:8

  8     ?  And YAHWEH spoke unto Aaron, saying,

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:9

  9    Do not drink wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:10

  10    And that you may put difference between holy and profane, and between unclean and clean;

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:11

  11    And that you may teach the children of Yisrael all the statutes which YAHWEH has spoken unto them by the hand of Mosheh.

Of Eating The Qodesh Things

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:12

  12     ?  And Mosheh spoke unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remains of the offerings of YAHWEH made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:13

  13    And you shall eat it in the holy place, because it is your due, and your sons' due, of the sacrifices of YAHWEH made by fire: for so I am commanded.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:14

  14    And the wave breast and heave shoulder shall you eat in a clean place; you, and your sons, and your daughters with you: for they be your due, and your sons' due, which are given out of the sacrifices of shalom offerings of the children of Yisrael.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:15

  15    The heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before YAHWEH; and it shall be yours, and your sons' with you, by a statute forever; as YAHWEH has commanded.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:16

  16    And Mosheh diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:17

  17    Wherefore have you not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and YAHWEH has given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before YAHWEH?

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:18

  18    Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy place: you should indeed have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:19

  19    And Aaron said to Mosheh, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before YAHWEH; and such things have befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of YAHWEH?

WAYYIORA - LEVITICUS 10:20

  20    And when Mosheh heard that, he was content.
