13 DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13

Enticers To Idolatry To Be Put To Death

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:1

  1     ?  If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder,

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:2

  2    And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke unto you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:3

  3    You shall not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for YAHWEH your ABBA proves you, to know whether you love YAHWEH your ABBA with all your heart and with all your soul.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:4

  4    You shall walk after YAHWEH your ABBA, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:5

  5    And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he has spoken to turn you away from YAHWEH your ABBA, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust you out of the way which YAHWEH your ABBA commanded you to walk in. So shall you put the evil away from the midst of you.

Relations Who Entice To Idolatry Not To Be Spared

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:6

  6     ?  If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, which is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:7

  7    Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:8

  8    You shall not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:9

  9    But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:10

  10    And you shall stone him with stones, that he die; because he has sought to thrust you away from YAHWEH your ABBA, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:11

  11    And all Yisrael shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such evilness as this is among you.

Idolatrous Cities Not To Be Spared

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:12

  12     ?  If you shall hear say in one of your cities, which YAHWEH your ABBA has given you to dwell there, saying,

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:13

  13    Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:14

  14    Then shall you enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:15

  15    You shall surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:16

  16    And you shall gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shall burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for YAHWEH your ABBA: and it shall be an heap forever; it shall not be built again.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:17

  17    And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to your hand: that YAHWEH may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion upon you, and multiply you, as he has sworn unto your fathers;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 13:18

  18    When you shall hearken to the voice of YAHWEH your ABBA, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of YAHWEH your ABBA.
