6 DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6

A Persuasive To Obedience

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:1

  1     ?  Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which YAHWEH your ABBA commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land whither you go to possess it:

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:2

  2    That you might fear YAHWEH your ABBA, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:3

  3    Hear therefore, O Yisrael, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as YAHWEH the Sovereign Ruler of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.

An Exhortation To Obedience

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:4

  4     ?  Hear, O Yisrael: YAHWEH our ABBA is one Sovereign Ruler:

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:5

  5    And you shall love YAHWEH your ABBA with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

Obedience Taught

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:6

  6    And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart:

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:7

  7    And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:8

  8    And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:9

  9    And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:10

  10    And it shall be, when YAHWEH your ABBA shall have brought you into the land which he swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Yitschaq, and to Yacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you built not,

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:11

  11    And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dug, which you dug not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:12

  12    Then beware lest you forget YAHWEH, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:13

  13    You shall fear YAHWEH your ABBA, and serve him, and shall swear by his name.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:14

  14    You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:15

  15    For YAHWEH your ABBA is a jealous El among you lest the anger of YAHWEH your ABBA be kindled against you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:16

  16    You shall not tempt YAHWEH your ABBA, as you tempted him in Massah.

General Precepts, Instructions To Be Given To Their Children

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:17

  17     ?  You shall diligently keep the commandments of YAHWEH your ABBA, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:18

  18    And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of YAHWEH: that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which YAHWEH swore unto your fathers,

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:19

  19    To cast out all your enemies from before you, as YAHWEH has spoken.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:20

  20    And when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which YAHWEH our ABBA has commanded you?

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:21

  21    Then you shall say unto your son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and YAHWEH brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:22

  22    And YAHWEH shown signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:23

  23    And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore unto our fathers.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:24

  24    And YAHWEH commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear YAHWEH our ABBA, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 6:25

  25    And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before YAHWEH our ABBA, as he has commanded us.
