The Yisraelites Come To Yardan

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:1

1 ?And Yehoshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from Shittim, and came to the Yardan, he and all the children of Yisrael, and lodged there before they passed over.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:2

2? ??And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:3

3 And they commanded the people, saying, When you see the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH your ALMIGHTY, and the kohenim the Levites bearing it, then you shall remove from your place, and go after it.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:4

4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near to it, that you may know the way by which you must go: for you have not passed this way before.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:5

5 And Yehoshua said to the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow YAHWEH will do wonders among you.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:6

6 And Yehoshua spoke to the kohenim, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH, and went before the people.

YAHWEH Encourages Yehoshua-Yehoshua Encourages The People

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:7

7 ?And YAHWEH said to Yehoshua, This day will I begin to magnify you in the sight of all Yisrael, that they may know that, as I was with Mosheh, so will I be with you.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:8

8 And you shall command the kohenim that bear the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH, saying, When you are come to the brink of the water of Yardan, you shall stand still in Yardan river.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:9

9 And Yehoshua said to the children of Yisrael, Come hither, and hear the Word of YAHWEH your ALMIGHTY.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:10

10 And Yehoshua said, Hereby you shall know that YAHWEH the living Almighty is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:11

11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH of the Sovereign of all the earth passes over before you through the Yardan river.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:12

12? ??Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Yisrael, out of every tribe a man.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:13

13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the kohenim that bear the ark of YAHWEH, the Sovereign of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Yardan, that the waters of Yardan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon a heap.

The Yisraelites Pass Through Yardan On Dry Land

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:14

14 ?And it came to pass, when the people set out from their tents, to pass over the Yardan, and the kohenim bearing the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH before the people;

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:15

15 And as they that carried the ark came to the Yardan, and the feet of the kohenim that carried the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, the Yardan overflowed all its banks totalily at the time of harvest,

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:16

16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 3:17

17 And the kohenim that bare the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Yardan, and all the Yisraelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people passed clean over Yardan.
