YAHWEH Appoints Yehoshua To Succeed Mosheh

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:1

1 Now after the death of Mosheh the servant of YAHWEH it came to pass, that YAHWEH spoke to Yehoshua the son of Nun, Mosheh' minister, saying,

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:2

2 Mosheh my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Yardan, you, and all this people, to the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Yisrael.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:3

3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given to you, as I said to Mosheh.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:4

4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

YAHWEH Promises To Assist Yehoshua

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:5

5 There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Mosheh, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:6

6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:7

7 Only be you strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the torah, which Mosheh my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:8

8 This book of the torah shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:9

9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for YAHWEH your ABBA is with you wheresoever you go.

Preparation To Pass Over Yardan

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:10

10 ?Then Yehoshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:11

11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days you shall pass over the Yardan, to go in to possess the land, which YAHWEH your ABBA gives you to possess it.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:12

12 And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spoke Yehoshua, saying,

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:13

13 Remember the word which Mosheh the servant of YAHWEH commanded you, saying, YAHWEH your ABBA has given you rest, and has given you this land.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:14

14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Mosheh gave you on this side of the Yardan; but you shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and help them;

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:15

15 Until YAHWEH have given your brethren rest, as HE has given you, and they also have possessed the land which YAHWEH your ABBA gives them: then you shall return to the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Mosheh YAHWEH's servant gave you on this side of the Yardan toward the sunrising.

The People Promise To Obey Yehoshua

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:16

16 ?And they answered Yehoshua, saying, All that you command us we shall do, and wherever you send us, we will go.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:17

17 According as we hearkened unto Mosheh in all things, so will we hearken to you: only YAHWEH your ALMIGHTY be with you, as he was with Mosheh.

YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 1:18

18 Whosoever he be that does rebel against your commandment, and will not hearken to your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
