Solomon Gives A Description Of The Infirmities Of Age
KOHETET - ECCLESIASTES 12:1-14
12:1 Remember {zaw-kar'} now your Creator in the days of your
youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when
you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;
12:2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not
darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
12:3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble
{zoo'-ah' be in terror} and the strong men shall bow themselves, and
the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of
the windows be darkened,
12:4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of
the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird,
and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;
12:5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears
shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the
grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because adam
goes to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be
broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel
broken at the cistern.
12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the
ruach shall return to YAHWEHwho gave it.

All Is Vanity: Also A Warning Of The Judgment To Come
12:8 Vanity {heh'bel' unsatisfactory, emptiness, breathless} of
vanities, says the preacher {ko-heh'-leth}; all is vanity.
* preacher, public speaker, speaker in an assembly, Qoheleth
12:9 And moreover, because the {ko-heh'-leth} was wise, he still
taught the people knowledge; yes, he gave good heed-he listened, and
sought out, and set in order many proverbs-mishle.
12:10 The {ko-heh'-leth} sought to find out acceptable words: and
that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
12:11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by
the masters of assemblies, which are given from One Shepherd.
In Yisrael’s rebuilding, the Tov Shepherd distributes our tasks and
tools, symbolized by nails
12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished {zaw-har'
reproved, warned, advised}: of making many books there is no end;
and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear YAHWEH, and
keep HIS Mitzvoth: for this is the whole duty of man.
12:14 For YAHWEHshall bring every work into mishpat, with every
secret thing, whether it be tov, or whether it be evil.
Yitschaq, Because Of Famine, Goes To Gerar
BERESHITH - GENESIS 26:1-5
1 ¶ And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine
that was in the days of Abraham. And Yitschaq went to Abimelech king
of the Philistines to Gerar.
2 And YAHWEH appeared to him, and said, Go not down into Egypt;
dwell in the land which I shall tell you of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you;
for unto you, and to your seed, I will give all these countries, and
I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father;
4 And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and
will give to your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall
all the nations of the earth be blessed;
5 Because that Abraham obeyed MY voice, and kept MY charge, MY
commandments, MY statutes, and MY torah.
The Great Work YAHWEH Wrought For Yisrael
DEBARIM - DEUTERONOMY 11:1-7
1 ¶ Therefore you shall love YAHWEH your ALMIGHTY, and keep HIS
charge, and HIS statutes, and HIS judgments, and HIS commandments,
alway.
2 And know you this day: for I speak not with your children which
have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of YAHWEH
your ALMIGHTY, HIS greatness, HIS mighty hand, and HIS stretched out
arm,
3 And HIS miracles, and HIS acts, which HE did in the midst of Egypt
to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;
4 And what HE did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to
their chariots; how HE made the water of the Red sea to overflow
them as they pursued after you, and how YAHWEH has destroyed them to
this day;
5 And what HE did to you in the wilderness, until you came into this
place;
6 And what HE did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son
of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up,
and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that
was in their possession, in the midst of all Yisrael:
7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of YAHWEH which HE did.
Reuben And Gad, With The Half Tribe Of Manasseh, Dismissed To Their Homes
YEHOSHUA BEN NUN - JOSHUA 22:1-9
1 ¶ Then Yehoshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the
half tribe of Manasseh,
2 And said to them, You have kept all that Mosheh the servant of
YAHWEH commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I
commanded you:
3 You have not left your brethren these many days to this day, but
have kept the charge of the commandment of YAHWEH your ALMIGHTY.
4 And now YAHWEH your ABBA has given rest to your brethren, as HE
promised them: therefore now return you, and get you to your tents,
and to the land of your possession, which Mosheh the servant of
YAHWEH gave you on the other side Yardan.
5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the torah, which
Mosheh the servant of YAHWEH charged you, to love YAHWEH your
ALMIGHTY, and to walk in all HIS ways, and to keep HIS commandments,
and to cleave to HIM, and to serve HIM with all your heart and with
all your soul.
6 So Yehoshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went to
their tents.
7 Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Mosheh had given
possession in Bashan: but to the other half thereof gave Yehoshua
among their brethren on this side Yardan westward. And when Yehoshua
sent them away also to their tents, then he blessed them,
8 And he spoke to them, saying, Return with much riches to your
tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and
with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the
spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
9 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half
tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of
Yisrael out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the
country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they
were possessed, according to the Word of YAHWEH by the hand of
Mosheh.
David's Dying Charge To Solomon
1 MELAKIM - 1 KINGS 2:1-4
1 ¶ Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he
charged Solomon his son, saying,
2 I go the way of all the earth: be you strong therefore, and show
yourself a man;
3 And keep the charge of YAHWEH your ALMIGHTY, to walk in HIS ways,
to keep HIS statutes, and HIS commandments, and HIS judgments, and
HIS testimonies, as it is written in the torah of Mosheh, that you
may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself:
4 That YAHWEH may continue HIS word which HE spoke concerning me,
saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before ME
in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall
not fail you (said he) a man on the throne of Yisrael.
YAHWEH's Care Of His People; The Distinction Between The Righteous And The Wicked
MALACHYAH - MALACHI 3:13-18
13 ¶ Your words have been stout against ME, saith YAHWEH. Yet you
say, What have we spoken so much against YOU?
14 You have said, It is vain to serve YAHWEH: and what profit is it
that we have kept HIS ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully
before YAHWEH of hosts?
15 And now we call the proud happy; yes, they that work wickedness
are set up; yes, they that tempt YAHWEH are even delivered.
16 Then they that feared YAHWEH spoke often one to another: and
YAHWEH hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was
written before HIM for them that feared YAHWEH, and that thought
upon HIS Name.
17 And they shall be MINE, saith YAHWEH of hosts, in that day when I
make up MY jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own
son that serves him.
18 Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the
wicked, between him that serves YAHWEH and him that serves HIM not.
We are unprofitable servants
LUKAS - LUKE 17:5-10
5 And the apostles said to YAHSHUA, Increase our faith.
6 And YAHSHUA said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you
might say to this sycamine tree, Be you plucked up by the root, and
be you planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will
say to him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit
down to meat?
8 And will not rather say to him, Make ready wherewith I may sup,
and gird yourself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and
afterward you shall eat and drink?
9 Does he show free unmerited love and favor to that servant because
he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.
10 So likewise you, when you shall have done all those things which
are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done
that which was our duty to do.
Exhortations To Various Duties
ROMIYAH - ROMANS 12:9
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil;
cleave to that which is good.
10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in
honor preferring one another;
11 Not slothful in business; fervent in ruach; serving YAHWEH;
12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in
prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of kidushim; given to hospitality.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but
condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
