Whatever A Man SowsThat He Will Reap

Contents of Sermon Message Preached by Pastor Roberts:

Sowing and Reaping

Many want to use David for their excuse for their sins. Yet, David procured much evil upon his house because he displeased YAHWEH. David's sins were forgiven but he had to pay the price for them, as well. Whatever one sows in life will be reaped by that one. (Galatians 6:7) You are not going to mock YAHWEH and continue doing the same wicked things. There was a curse in David's house that was never removed because of his wickedness. Even today we do things to procure curses on our own houses.

The Anointing Of David

The king Saul had been rejected by YAHWEH for his wickedness. YAHWEH sent Samuel to the house of Jesse to show him the king to replace Saul. After examining all the sons of Jesse Samuel recognized the anointing on David. Samuel anointed David with the oil from his horn and the Ruwach of YAHWEH came upon him from that day forward. (1 Samuel 16:-13) The power of YAHWEH on David was made manifest in the battle against Goliath. (1 Samuel 17:45-47) Saul began to be angry and jealous with David because of the way that YAHWEH had used him. (1 Samuel 18:8,9,12) Saul became very afraid of David.

David As King

David was thirty years old when he rose to the ascension as king. YAHWEH sent Nathan to tell David to build a place for the ark to dwell. in. (2 Samuel 7:3-5) David reigned over all Yisrael and brought forth justice and judgment. (2 Samuel 8:15) However, David allowed himself to be overtaken in sin. At the time when kings go forth to battle David stayed behind in Jerusalem. He allowed himself to believe that he could partake of any exploit he chose without repercussion. In the evening, he saw a woman bathing and began to lust for her. After Bathsheba became pregnant David sought to convince Uriah to go to his wife. Uriah refused and David had him put into the thick of the battle to cover his own sins. (2 Samuel 11:1-4)

Anger Of YAHWEH

David brought the anger of YAHWEH on himself and his house in this wicked sin. YAHWEH sent Nathan to David with an analogy to see how David would respond. David's anger was greatly kindled against the wicked man in the parable. Nathan revealed to David that David was the man. He spoke from YAHWEH unto David that the sword would never depart from David's house. (2 Samuel 12:1,5-14) David acknowledged his sin before Nathan and he spoke to David that his sin was forgiven and he would not die. Nevertheless, death never departed from the house of David.

The Curse

The curse that David brought upon his house was manifest among his children. Amnon was smitten with a lust for his sister. This was the same lust that David had given place to. This lust drove Amnon to rape Tamar. After this Amnon despised her. (2 Samuel 1-17) This was the very sin that David committed. When David heard of this he was angry but he did nothing to Amnon. This caused Absalom to raise up in hatred. He caused his servants to kill Amnon. Absalom himself was killed later. (2 Samuel 18:9) All of Psalms are given to us as a warning to do as YAHWEH commands and to not turn against HIS standards. We should not seek to compare ourselves to David but to YAHSHUA. We should also remember that that which we sow we will reap. Not one thing will get by YAHWEH.

Nuggets: David's sins were forgiven but he had to pay the price for them, as well. Whatever one sows in life will be reaped by that one.
