The Ability to Wait on ABBA YAHWEH
The reward of waiting (qavah) on YAHWEH and the consequences of trusting in your own strength.
Those who wait on YAHWEH will not be put to shame but those who refuse to wait on HIM will meet destruction. (Psalm 25:3) The meaning of "wait" in this Scripture is expressed by the Hebrew qavah, which means to wait, look for, hope and expect. In our waiting we must look for and expect from HIM. We must not allow our courage in waiting for YAHWEH be nullified by our carnal mind. We must not allow the enemy to steal that expectation from our hearts when it seems as though our waiting is in vain. (Psalms 27:14 also expresses qavah) When we do not trust and wait or qavah on YAHWEH we lose our resolve. Those that disregard the Torah- the principles of YAHWEH are evildoers and they will be cut off. (Psalms 37:9, 34) One who truly qavah or waits on YAHWEH has hope even in situations they cannot control. (Psalms 130:5; 39:7)
YAHWEH will guard those who wait (shamar) on HIM
YAHWEH will keep and guard those who trust in HIM despite the strength of the enemy, Shatan. (Psalms 59:8,9) In this verse "wait" is expressed as shamar or to keep, to guard, to give heed, to hedge about. We must guard the word of YAHWEH and hedge it about in our lev. To shamar is to celebrate in that waiting. Even as a bride would celebrate in the waiting of her bridegroom as the day of marriage draws near. Those who truly shamar or wait with joy on YAHWEH will have much shalom. (Psalms 37:37) To shamar is to wait with great gladness even in adverse situations. (Psalms 39:10) We must guard ourselves and in waiting or shamar we take heed to every detail. The mercy of YAHWEH is from everlasting to everlasting towards those that fear HIM and keep-or shamar- HIS covenant and Torah. (Psalms 103:17,18)
Waiting (damam) with silence and with great praise
Our trust should be in YAHWEH only because HE is the one who is able to deliver and provide for us. (Psalms 62:5) HE is the one we wait (expressed as damam in the Hebrew) for with great expectations. To damam is to be silent, still, to make oneself quiet. (Psalms131:2) When one is waiting or damam he is silent as his mind is preoccupied with the hope he carries within himself. In this walk with YAHWEH there is a time when we will be silent and a time when we will celebrate with great joy. (Psalms 30:12) The fruit of this burning desire must be in us as we learn to wait on YAHWEH. When the wicked seem to prosper we are commanded not to worry but to rest or damam in YAHWEH and to wait. (expressed as chuwl or to dance with great joy) We have such trust in YAHWEH that we are able to even dance in our waiting.
The hope (sabar) of YAHWEH'S yeshua
In this form of waiting (Psalms 119:166) it is expressed sabar or to examine or inspect and hope. To sabar is to examine the word of YAHWEH while you wait on HIM. We must examine his Mitsvah and Torah with the hope of HIS Yshuw'ah. (salvation) We must do this while we have life in our being because there is no sabar for the dead. (Isaiah 38:18)
